  • Goodall Guitars

    James Goodall makes a baritone that has clear definition. The Baritone includes a neck which has 14 frets clear to the body and a 28 inch string scale. With regular medium gauge strings they can be tuned one whole step down to D-G-C-F-A-D and drop tuned from there. Add a capo at the 2nd fret and it's a regular guitar. With slightly heavier custom gauge strings it can be pitched as low as B.

    Luthier John Kingslight builds baritone guitars and 12 string baritone guitars. The K34 jumbo cutaway baritone comes with Rosewood back and sides, and an Adirondack (Red Spruce) top. The K23 jumbo baritone comes with Claro Walnut back and sides, and a Carpathian spruce top. The 12 string baritone comes with Imbuia back and sides, and a Sitka Spruce top.

  • De Faoite Stringed Instruments

    Treebeard is a baritone guitar with 735mm (approximately 29") scale and a rich deep tone. It has a cello shape and a 14 fret join to the body rather than 15 or 16. With its long scale, this guitar will tune down to A-A, but its best range is B-B and the various open tunings from this base. It is a lot more easy to play than you think and is perfect for fingerstyle using open tunings. It compliments well standard scale guitars in open tunings as from the B-B base, C shaped tunings are G tunings, G shaped are D tunings, F shaped are C tunings and D shaped are A tunings. They recommend heavies (D'Addario EJ18) for B-B tuning and open tunings around this base; mediums (D'Addario EJ17) for C-C tuning and open tunings around this base; and lights (D'Addarion EJ16) for D-D tuning and open tunings around this base. All of these options give total string tension close to that of light strings on a "normal" scale guitar. An alternative string choice for B-B tuning is to use a set of extra -lights (D'Addario EJ15), discard the first (0.010" string) and use a 0.070" string for the 6th string.

  • Santa Cruz Guitars

    The Bob Brozman Baritone model features a 27-inch neck scale built to be tuned down two or three half steps, a sloped-shoulder dreadnought with 12 frets to the body, contributing to a rich and powerful voice. The tone woods for this model were chosen to optimize separation and presence: beautiful figured Koa for the back and sides, and rare German Spruce for the top. However, as a response to the escalating price of Koa being reflected on the price of the guitar, they also offer this model with Mahogany back and sides as a standard feature, Koa as an option . The Koa overlay is also an option, Ebony being standard.

    Applegate Guitars manufactures Jumbo Baritone Guitars.The base model soundboards are made from either Western Red Cedar, Engelmann Spruce or Sitka Spruce with tonewoods of Indian Rosewood, Bubinga or Mahogany. They come standard with your choice of dovetailed 5-piece neck in Mahogany, Maple, Rosewood or Mahogany or inlayed neck of solid mahogany. Logo and rosette are either abalone, wood or Mother of Pearl. The fretboard has abalone or Mother of Pearl position markers and dots on the bridgepins. The saddle and nut are genuine bone. The tuners are Gotoh 510 or Schaller. A hardshell Cedar creek tweed case is included.

    A.J.Lucas luthier the baritone. The baritone has a scale length of 735mm or approximately 29". It is designed to be tuned B E A D F# B - a fourth below standard - with heavier string gauges. It will accommodate variations on this tuning. The bridge falls lower down the body, more or less at the widest point. This gives the bridge a relationship to the soundboard similar to that found on 12 frets to the body guitars and makes for a sweet and deep sound. Scale length and neck dimensions can be altered to suit individual taste.

    The Turner Renaissance RS-6-B Baritone Guitar has a cedar top with a .0008" thick clear poly finish. The back and sides are walnut or cherry finished with urethane that has been oil-modified. The dots and side markers are of New Zealand Paua shell and the bindings and headstock trim are faux tortoise.  Other features include Kluson-style tuners, dual-action truss rods, a volume and tone control that is low-noise and finishes up with a Turner-designed piezo bridge pickup with 18 volt Turner pre-amp.

    Chris Larkin TVR Baritone body, much like the ASAPJ model, has the top, back and sides made from the same board of khaya mahogany. To add richness and color to the high gloss finish, a red mahogany tint is added.  Heavier than normal the bracing is scalloped spruce. The silk finished neck is maple but a center lamination of mahogany is added and the fingerboard is ebony with solid wood rosette of spalted beech and figured maple bindings.  Providing the main pickup is a Highlander IP-2 undersaddle piezo with an internally mounted Highlander condenser mic on a miniature gooseneck.  The guitar has been fitted with Schaller Vintage M6 tuning machines.
