    Deering truly is the Great American Banjo Company. They offer a vast array of 4, 5 and 6 string models and manufacture the Deering, Goodtime, Tenbrooks and Vega banjo lines.     Savannah offers over half a dozen banjo models, including the SB-100 24 bracket, the SB-106 six string, the SB-100 planetary, the SB-300 tone ring, the SB-070 open back, the SB-080 18 bracket, the SB-060 travel banjo, and the SB-100-L left handed banjo.

  • Wildwood Banjos

    Wildwood offers two distinct styles of banjo models; the Traditional Style and the Bluegrass Style. In the Traditional Style you will find the Minstrel, Troubador, Heirloom and Balldeer banjo models. In the Bluegrass Style are the Artist, Paragon and Soloist string banjo models. Tenor and Plectrum models, and optional tone rings are available as well.

    Chuck Lee builds about a dozen banjo models, including the Chautaqua, Marble Falls, Bug Tussle, Chalk Mountain, Glen Rose, Cottonwood, Badger, Prairieville, Ovilla, Deep Hollow, Lone Star Deluxe and the Rose Hill. Custom options such as inlay work and bracket bands are available. He has several inlay materials; shell, stone, metals, woods and woolly mammoth ivory to make each banjo unique.   • Nechville

    Nechville builds both electric and acoustic banjo models. Acoustic banjos include the Geometric Eclipse, Classic, Moonshine, Nextar, Phanton and Vintage models.   • OME Banjos

    OME string banjos are built with carefully selected woods including Curly maple for the neck, rim and resonator. Mahogany, walnut and rosewood are available upon request. Banjo models include the Grand Artist, Artist, Custom and Vintage. The OME banjo fingerboard, peghead overlay and heel cap are made of durable African ebony or striking Brazilian rosewood and are artistically inlayed with colorful abalone and mother-of-pearl.   • Hartel Banjos

    Hartel Minstrel banjos are made after models from the 1800’s. Each banjo is individually handcrafted using the dimensions and patterns from the originals. The models James Hartel offers are the William E. Boucher Jr. c. 1850, the “no name” c. 1850, the James Ashborn c. 1852, the Henry Stichter c. 1848, the Reed Martin c. 1880, and the Joel W.   • Huber Banjos

    Huber banjos are one of the finest in modern banjo construction, but are a reproduction of the great pre-war flatheads of the 1930’s. Huber offers a variety of models, including the Lancaster, the Kalamazoo, the Roanoke, the Lexington, the Jim Mills model, the Berkshire, the Ron Block model and the Sammy Shelor model. Each banjo comes with the same standard features, but they differ in the materials used.   • Fielding Banjos

    Fielding string banjos are hand carved and custom built one at a time. Each banjo can be customized to fit each artist's needs. Fielding offers five different banjo models, including the Vermonter, the Rooster, the Wiley, the Zenith and the Catamount. Some of their standard features consist of maple or cherry rims, renaissance heads, two-way adjustable neck rods, geared tuning pegs, bone nuts and no-knot tailpieces.   • Huss & Dalton

    Huss & Dalton offers a number of banjo models to choose from. The Owens Mill Banjo is a 1930's style with a sand cast flat-head tone ring. The Cedar Forest Mill banjo features more traditional ivorid bindings with "bat" pattern inlays. The Engraved Owens Mill features a beautiful painted engraving of Owens Mill (a place that the Dalton family once called home) on the back and neck of the instrument. The Singletree string banjo offers dowel stick construction without a tone ring. Banjo options include wood choices of Balck walnut, Burl walnut, mahogany and maple. Gold plating is available as well.

  • Stelling Banjo

    Stelling Banjo models include the Staghorn, Bellflower, Master Flower, Red Fox, Sunflower and the Virginian.   • Crafters of Tennessee

    Crafters of Tennessee offers their Classic and Signature series of banjos. Each string banjo series offers options of maple, mahogany and walnut resonators and necks. They also feature a Mark Taylor signature block at the 12th fret and Tennessee 20 flathead copper flashed sand-cast tone rings.

  • Petrella Banjos

    Petrella makes custom and lightweight banjos.  Dan Petrella's traditional models use many of the tried and true tone rims of older, pre-war models similar to those used by Gibson, Vega Vox, and Bacon and Day.  He does his own carving and inlay work using quality pearl, abalone and semi-precious stones. Dan specializes in tenor, plectrum and 5-string banjo styles.

  • Doc's Banjos

    Patrick "Doc" Huff builds mostly open-backed banjo models. Each string banjo is custom built for each customer. You have a choice of your length, wood, pot size, tailpiece and hardware. Some woods include bibinga, Black walnut, Wild Oregon cherry, ebony, granadilla, padouk, wenge, mahogany, cocobolo, maple, rosewood and guanacoste. You can also add a frailing scoop, a frailing platform, an internal resonator, or all three for an additional price. Tenor banjo models are available.

  • J Romero Banjos

    J. Romero custom open back banjos are uniquely handmade. Jason offers many string banjo models, including 13” open backs, 12”open-backs, 11” open backs, specialty and bluegrass banjos. The open back styles come in all-wood rim and traditional rim types. Specialty types include: banjo ukuleles, wood-top models, tenor banjos and more.   • Bob Flesher Custom Banjos

    Bob Flesher custom built, open back banjos are all made to order. String banjo models available include the Jublio, the Fandango Grandioso, the Grand Cotillion Elite, the Grand Cotillion, the Cotillion, the Grand Promenade, the Tarantella, the Quadrille, the Buck Dancer, the Old Virginia and the Plantation. Additional features such as a carved heel, engraved metal parts, gold plating, backstaps, bound pegheads, shoebolt cover bands, fingerboard bindings, calfskin heads, inlays, additional railroad spikes and gut strings are available.   • Brooks Banjos

    Brooks Masten builds 5 string, open back traditional banjos. Banjo models offered include the Spartan, the 1500, the 30L, the 20L, and the Silverspun. The Spartan is a bare bone, light and sturdy string banjo, featuring a walnut neck, a clown or paddle peghead, and an ebony fingerboard. The 1500 model is the same as the Spartan but has 16 shoes instead of 14. The 30L banjo model has a total of 30 hooks and the 20L model has 20 hooks. Aside from that, they have the same features as the Spartan. The Silverspun model comes with custom rims. Different hardware such as headstocks, shoes, fingerboards, nuts and hooks are available.

  • Jubilee Gourd Banjo

    Pete Ross builds his Jubilee Gourd Banjos with authenticity in look, feel and sound. All his materials are pine and cypress that were salvaged from 150 to 200 year old buildings. Pete also tries to use only tools that were around in the eighteenth century so that he can mimic those styles. The finished gourd banjo instruments are scrapped smooth and finished with 18th century style beeswax and linseed oil. Pete offers six different gourd banjo models, including the Liberty, the Old Plantation, the Didlake, the Mande Banza, the Haiti Banza and the Minstrel. All these models have substantial differences, but all look very authentic.

  • Cox Banjos

    Cox banjos have been made for over forty years at the five string music studio. Jimmy offers a variety of banjo models, including the Cumberland, the Kentucky-5, the Carolina, the Fairchild 50th, the Redneck Kentucky-5, the Johnny Rebel and the Wolf Creek. The Cumberland model has a maple neck and resonator, a 3-ply rock maple rim and a Cox tailpiece. The Kentucky-5 model has a curly maple, burl walnut or mahogany neck and resonator, either flat or raised head styles, and a choice of three inlay patterns for the neck. The Carolina model is an all maple banjo. The Fairchild 50th model is a limited edition that has a curly maple neck, a quilted maple resonator, a Cox Kentucky-5 tone ring and an engraved Cox tailpiece. The redneck Kentucky-5 banjo is also a limited edition and has a fully bound peghead, a timber old wood rim and a mahogany neck. The Johnny Rebel string banjo model has an engraved eagle inlaid peghead, a curly maple neck and resonator, a natural finish and a Confederate army field commander pictured on the resonator.   • Sullivan Banjo Company

    Sullivan banjos are available in 4 models; the Greenbrier, Radcliff, Bardstown and Festival. The Greenbrier features a high curl figure and is made with select maple. The Radcliff is made with walnut. The Bardstown is made with rare Quilted mahogany (no other string banjo being produced today has this rare and desirable figured mahogany). A selection of custom models is also offered.
