Ampeg
Ampeg manufactures three series of amplifier heads: the Classic Series, the Pro Series, and the B Series. The Classic Series includes the SVT-VR, a vintage reissue of an early 1970s “Blue-Line” SVT head; the SVT-CL, an all-tube bass amp that delivers 300-watts of unsurpassed quality, reliability, and tonal flexibility; and the SVT-450H, which produces a warm, tube-like performance at extreme volume levels. The Pro Series heads feature tube preamps and expanded EQ capabilities. Models include the SVT-2PRO, SVT-3PRO, SVT-4PRO, SVT-6PRO, and SVT-8PRO. The B Series includes the B-4R, which emphasizes power and tone; the B-2RE, which includes the tone-sculpting Ultra Mid control; and the B-1RE, which is similar to the B-2RE, except it doesn't include Graphic EQ. Ashdown Engineering
Ashdown Engineering manufactures Classic, ABM EVO III, MAG EVO II, and Ashdown Lab bass heads. The Classic heads include the Klystron 1000 and the Klystron 500, and they both include three rotary tone controls, a built-in dual band compressor, a 4-way footswitch, and a single input that can be switched for both active and passive instruments. The ABM EVO II series includes three models: ABM 500 EVO III, ABM 500 RC EVO III, and ABM 900 EVO III, all of which include an on-board compressor, a sub-harmonic level control, and the sub-harmonic generator which tracks the main signal and brings it back in a lower octave. The MAG EVO II heads include the MAG 300H EVO II and the MAG 600H EVO II. Both offer the Ashdown sub-harmonic generator, front panel push switches for bright and deep settings, and a built-in compressor with precision sonic control. Carvin offers three models of bass amplifier heads. The B1500 Mono Block head delivers 700-watts at 8 ohms, 1250-watts at 4 ohms and 1900-watts at 2 ohms. It also offers six tone controls and front panel and foot switchable mute and effects loop switches. Epifani's UL series of bass heads were designed to emphasize power, precision and clarity. The models include the UL-502 and the UL-902C. Gallien Krueger
Gallien Krueger manufactures three series of heads: the Artist Series, MicroBass Series, and Backline Series. The RB Series includes the 2001RB, which features a bi-amp system and dual 540W woofer amps; the 700RB-II, a compact head with EQ and voicing controls; the 1001RB-II, which has the same feature set as the 700RB-II but boosts power output to a level for larger venues; the 400RB-IV, a 280-watts entry level head; and the 800RB, which features bi-amped power and custom voicing filters. Kustom
Kustom manufactures Groove Bass heads and Deep End heads. The Groove Bass line includes the Groove 1300 HD, which features 1200-watts, the 9-Band Active EQ, and bass, mid, and high controls with pull-shift functions, and the Groove 600 HD, which features 600 RMS watts and provides the same features as the Groove Bass 1300 HD with the exception of the EQ shift switches. Mesa Boogie's line of bass amplifier heads includes five models. The Big Block 750 is a 750-watts head with an all-tube tone stack and overdrive, twin fans, and a balanced XLR Direct Out. The Big Block Titan V-12 is a bigger block version of the Big Block 750 and includes dual inputs, all-tube preamps, and a wide-band harness of treble, mid, and bass controls. The M-Pulse 600 is available in a 600-watt rack version and combines the best of musical old-world tube technology with modern high-power portability. SWR
SWR manufactures two series of bass heads. The Classic Series includes three models, the first being the SM-1500, which has two separate power modules providing 1,500-watts, an onboard tube-driven compressor, and an array of tone controls. The SM-500 is a direct descendant of the original SWR amplifier, the world-famous SM-400. The SM-500 features the original SWR tube preamp and a four-band graphic/semi-parametric EQ. The last model, the SM-900, provides SWR tube preamp tone with two power modules, when in the bridged mode, offers the option of 900-watts. It also features two three-band semi-parametric EQs with the ability to be combined into a single six-band configuration. Warwick
Warwick manufactures four different lines of bass heads. The first, ProFet, includes two models, the ProFet 3.3, with 300-watts of power and a parametric EQ that is divided into four tone controls and includes deep and bright switches, and the ProFet 5.2, the bigger, more powerful brother of the ProFet 3.2 with 500-watts of power. The X-treme line includes the X-treme 10.1, which has 1000-watts of MOSFET power and a switchable and adjustable onboard compressor, and the X-treme 5.1, which has a 500-watt power amp and many of the same features that the X-treme 10.1 has. The TubePath line includes the 500-watt TubePath 5.1 and the 1,000-watt TubePath 10.1. Both models include an all-tube preamp, adjustable contour, switches for low and high boosts, and rotary controls for bass, treble, and two parametric mids with frequency shift buttons. Hellborg is the last line of bass heads, and it includes the Hellborg Preamp and Hellborg Power Amps. The Hellborg Preamp has a classic 70's design and provides bassists with a high-definition sonic experience that is both warm and well defined. The Hellborg Power Amps use a powerful output transformer at the speaker output of a solid state power amplifier to achieve the warmth and presence of a tube amp while maintaining the clarity of a solid state design.
