Phoenix Blues Society:
The Phoenix Blues Society, an all-volunteer organization, supports local and national music, Blues culture and heritage, arts education, and more. Highlights of the Blues Society's annual calendar include the Blues Blast festival, held in February and the Arizona Blues Showdown (statewide preliminaries for The BluesFoundation's international competition in Memphis). Mississippi Delta blues Society:
The Mississippi Delta Blues Society was organized in 1994. Their current concerns relate to laying the foundation for future development. This means (1) soliciting membership; (2) planning the 3rd Annual Mississippi Crossroads Blues (Music) Festival; (3) offering live blues and workshops in the Delta throughout the year; and (4) producing and syndicating Mississippi Crossroads, a radio show recorded here in the Delta featuring local musicians, historians, producers and others affiliated with Delta Blues.
