Acoustic Bass Guitars

Michael Kelly offers several models of acoustic bass guitar in 4 and 5 string varieties. The Firefly features Flame maple back and sides, spruce top, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, and a rosewood bridge. The Visionary AB4 acoustic bass features a Figured maple back, sides and top, mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard. The Club Custom bass features a Burled ash back, sides and top, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, and a rosewood bridge. The Dragonfly acoustic bass guitar features a Quilted maple back, sides and top, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard and scalloped bracing. It is also available with a fretless fingerboard. The Club Deluxe features a solid rosewood back/sides, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, and solid cedar top.

Washburn offers their AB10 and AB40 acoustic bass guitars, as well as a Stu Hamm Signature Series acoustic bass. The AB40 features an arched top and back, cutaway body, select spruce top, maple sides and back, rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge, and gold die cast tuners. It is also available as a 5 string in the AB45. The AB10 is a thin bodied bass that features a Florentine cutaway style, select spruce top, mahogany sides, back and neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and chrome die cast tuners. The Stu Hamm model offers an arched spruce top and arched maple back with custom Stu Hamm yin-yang bass clef inlays.

Takamine  produces three models of acoustic electric bass guitar. The TB10 is a fretless bass with f-holes, featuring a spruce top and maple back/sides. The TB240SC-NS is a jumbo size acoustic electric bass with a cedar top and mahogany back/sides. The TB250SC-SB is also a jumbo size with a spruce top and Flamed maple back/sides.

Ovation offers four models of acoustic bass guitar. The NSB778 is their top of the line acoustic bass designed with the help of Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. The CC2474 is an affordable four string bass with a spruce top and Ovations mid-depth composite body. The B778TX is also a four string, mid-depth body style, but offers enhanced lower frequency projection. The B778 acoustic bass guitar is another of Ovation's flagship models featuring a AA solid spruce top and scalloped X-bracing.

Warwick offers three models of acoustic bass guitar, with laminated spruce tops, that are made in Vietnam. The Warwick Alien features an off-center asymmetric soundhole and a Fishman Prefix Plus pickup system. It is also available in a left handed bass. The Rockbass Alien Standard and Rockbass Alien Deluxe both come in either 4 or 5 string configurations, fretted or fretless. These acoustic bass guitars also feature an off-center asymmetric soundhole. 

Dean offers five acoustic bass guitar models, all with a 34" scale. The EQA bass comes with a Quilted ash top and body. The EAB model offers a spruce top and mahogany body. The EAB C and EAB C5 acoustic basses offer 4 and 5 strings respectively. There is also an EAB Fretless acoustic bass guitar with a spruce top and mahogany back/sides.

J.T. Hargreaves builds two acoustic bass guitar models: the Bluejay and the Jayhawk. The Bluejay features a Sitka spruce top and back, Flame maple sides, maple neck, ebony fingerboard, oriental blue finish, body size of 24" x 18" x 5", and string length of 30.5". The Jayhawk acoustic bass features a redwood top, Indian rosewood back and sides, maple neck, ebony fingerboards, body size of 24" x 18" x 3.5", and string length of 32".

Dave Maize's acoustic bass guitars feature black walnut necks, Sperzel black locking tuning machines, wood binding and purfling, high-gloss lacquer finishes, brass/black fingerboard edge markers, and intonated phenolic saddles. Standard models are the four string fretless acoustic bass with a walnut body and redwood top, and the five string bass with high C string featuring a Bigleaf maple body and red cedar top.

The Berkowitz acoustic bass guitar features a 34" scale length, 5 1/2" body depth, 9 1/2" waist and 2 1/4" string spacing. The soundhole port was developed to lower the body cavity resonance and to improve the instrument’s projection – much like the port of a loudspeaker.

Fender offers two models of acoustic bass guitars. The Kingman Bass SCE offers a Jazz Bass headstock. The T-Bucket Bass uses a Fishman Isys III pickup system with onboard active preamp and tuner.

Ibanez offers the AEB and EWB models of acoustic bass guitar. The AEB bass features a 32" scale length, mahogany neck, bac, and sides, spruce top, abalone rosette, rosewood bridge and fretboard, and Ivorex II nut and saddle. The EWB Series acoustic bass features a 34" scale neck, EW body and cutaway, mahogany neck, chrome die-cast tuners, and a rosewood bridge and fingerboard.

Stephen Wise builds strictly acoustic bass guitars, typically made with Sitka spruce tops and koa back/sides. Scale length is 34". The bracing and neck are graphite reinforced. Steve also builds double basses (stand up).

Renaissance Ampli-Coustic bass guitars have a cedar top that has been finished with a .008" thick clear poly finish. All acoustic electric bass guitar models feature a Turner-designed piezo bridge pickup and a Highlander 18 volt pre-amp with controls for volume and tone. Custom options include wood upgrades such as Quilted Western Big Leaf maple, Western Big Leaf maple that is tiger striped, Indian rosewood and Figured Hawaiian koa.

Campbell offers the SC acoustic electric bass bass guitar. This instrument features a resonant body with either a short or long scale neck. It is available in four or five string configurations.

Doolin acoustic bass guitars are available in fretted or fretless, 4-string or 5-string Hi C. The small offset soundhole tunes the body down into the bass register for a full bass sound.

The Specht Flat-Top acoustic bass guitar comes with a spruce top, mahogany back/sides, walnut binding, maple neck and walnut inlays.
