Acoustic Flattop Guitars

The Santa Cruz Guitar Company offers an impressive series of handbuilt guitars, including Dreadnaught 12 Fret guitar sizes and the Bob Brozman acoustic baritone guitar. The Santa Cruz PJ is a parlor guitar. Acoustic guitar options include Adirondack Spruce, Cedar, Koa and Mahogany tops, and Brazilian Rosewood, Koa, German Maple, Cocobolo, Quilted Mahogany and Walnut back/sides. Standard necks are made of Mahogany but Maple can be chosen as an option. A variety of tuners and inlays round out the available options for your Santa Cruz acoustic guitar. A Collings acoustic guitar comes in many models. Huss & Dalton features two construction styles of guitars. There is a 25" radius built into the top of the acoustic guitars on the standard series. The traditional series has the same except the sides are flat for a more traditional look. Hand split Appalachian red spruce is used to brace all there guitars and Honduras rosewood is used for the bridge plates.  Honduran Mahogany, Maple, Walnut, or Spanish Cedar is quarter sawn for the necks, and the truss rods are steel reinforced. C.F. Martin and Co. has been an acoustic guitar builder since 1833. A Martin acoustic guitar offers custom options such as body size, inlays, tuners and finishes. Their extensive line of traditional guitars includes the 000, 00 and O models, a D Series of dreadnoughts, plus the HD and OM Series. Martin offers literally hundreds of models to choose from, most of which come with hardshell cases. They even build a tenor uke!

Taylor has expanded their acoustic guitar line with 20 new models, while still maintaining the old favorites. Add the Expression System pickup for onstage use. When you choose a Taylor acoustic guitar you have many options. While Sitka Spruce is used as a top wood on most Taylor models, Western Red Cedar, Adirondack Spruce, Engelmann Spruce and Koa are also used. A George Lowden acoustic guitar is built with many options available, including 'Dolphin' profile soundboard bracing for Lowden voicing, five piece necks with ebony bound fingerboards, solid AAA grade tonewoods, and split two piece saddles for accurate tuning. Guitars come in Standard Series, 35 Series, 38 Series, Signature Models and more. Luthier Steve Fischer, formerly of McPherson Guitars, joined Paul Reed Smith and these handmade acoustic guitars are inspiring. The two acoustic guitar models offered are the Angelus and the Tonare Grand. The Angelus Cutaway features an unusual amount of volume and bass suitable for fingerstyle playing. Jean Larrivee is an acoustic guitar builder offering a wide variety of models to choose from, including the Recording Series, Mahogany Select Series, Rosewood Select Series, Rosewood Deluxe Series, Fingerstyle Series, Mahogany Traditional Series and the Rosewood Traditional Series of guitars. Breedlove creates quality flattop guitars available in numerous tonewood options. You can use a worksheet on their web site to configure any custom acoustic guitar. D'Addario strings are used on all of their guitars and each guitar comes with a hardshell case. 12 string models are available. Breedlove also offers the Mark I and II chambered acoustic electric guitar. Their Revival Series tenor guitar features a Sitka Spruce top.

Takamine Guitars are crafted from handpicked tonewoods and hand-crafted by expert luthiers. The two main guitars they manufacture are the Takamine Pro Series and the G series. They have a very nice acoustic guitar collection available to choose from, including 12 string models.

Guild has been an acoustic guitar manufacuturer since 1953. Their guitars feature traditional tonewoods (spruce) in the Contemporary, D, F. and GAD series. Guild still offers the same guitars that have made them famous throught the years, but has now added to their collection new models such as the Dv Series and a new series of traditional dreadnought bluegrass models (D40, D50, D55). The F412 and F512 are 12 string models.

Eastman acoustic flattop guitars come in six models, including parlor, grand concert, OM, grand auditorium, dreadnought and jumbo body sizes. They also make archtops, mandolins and thinline electrics.

Webber builds acoustic flattop guitars. The brace carving, neck fitting and inlaying of the abalone are completed by hand. A computerized router is used for neck carving and roughing out the bridges. David Webber is the designer and programmer.  To ensure a stable and crack resistant acoustic guitar, all are made in a  humidity controlled environment and come with a hard shell case.  Custom and dealer stock orders are available. Ovation is an acoustic guitar builder. They offer many options, most with pick-up systems built into the guitars, making them acoustic electric models. An Ovation acoustic guitar will feature a bowl-shaped back made of composite material for light weight comfort and less feedback potential on stage. Their top of the line Adamas Series uses a carbon based material for the top of this unique guitar. 12 string guitars are also available.

Yamaha carries a wide variety of acoustic flattop guitars. Choose from their FG Series, F Series, Silent Series, APX/CPX Series, Handcrafted Acoustics Series, Student Size and Eterna models of guitars. The features of a Silvertone acoustic guitar include select spruce tops with high gloss finish, mahogany backs and sides, a bound rosewood set neck and bridge pearloid sound hole, an 18 fret rosewood fingerboard, and chrome precision die-cast tuning machines. Epiphone is an acoustic guitar manufacturer with a large selection of guitars with such features as mahogany bodies and necks.
