The Edirol R-44 is a compact, solid state, four channel portable field recorder that offers u p to 24-bit / 192 kHz linear PCM (Stereo), supports SDHC large capacity media, has a light-weight 1.3kg compact body, and with AA batteries offers 4 hours of recording. The R-4 Pro shares the R-4's features but also includes AES/EBU support, SMPTE time code and superb electronics.

The Fostex FR-2 field memory flash recorder records to PCMCIA 1.8" hard disk drives and Type II compact flash, uses the industry-standard BWF format and is stereo/mono selectable, and offers up to 24-bit 192KHz recording in the field.
