Blues Societies

The Atlanta Blues Society celebrates and perpetuates the blues as a traditional, evolutionary, and uniquely American art form. They are a non-profit, all-volunteer "force" of blues enthusiasts.

The mission of the Bakersfield Blues Preservation Society is to serve as a point of connection for the general public, educational and business communities to support this true American art form. The Bakersfield Blues Society meets every 3rd Wednesday evening of every month at 7:00-10:00 PM at: Gumbeaux’s 1804 Chester Ave. Downtown Bakersfield.

The Billtown Blues Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for area residents to experience blues music; producing quality performance opportunities for national, regional and local artists who have a devoted interest in this music; and preserving blues music as a valued American art form by educating interested members and non-members about the Blues.

The Blues Lovers United of San Diego mission is to preserve and promote awareness and appreciation for the blues.

The Blues Society of Central Pennsylvania Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation, promotion, support and enjoyment of the truly original American art form, the blues. Their goal is to be a complete resource for all blues lovers including fans, musicians, retailers, promoters, club owners, technicians, and educators.

The Blues Society of the Ozarks is based in Springfield Missouri and principally serves the Southwest Missouri region. They are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization, affiliated with the Blues Foundation. Their goals are to encourage performance of the blues at clubs, festivals,on the radio, and provide a forum in the Ozarks area where people can share their common appreciation and love of the blues.

The Phoenix Blues Society, an all-volunteer organization, supports local and national music, Blues culture and heritage, arts education, and more. Highlights of the Blues Society's annual calendar include the Blues Blast festival, held in February and the Arizona Blues Showdown (statewide preliminaries for The Blues Foundation's international competition in Memphis). Monthly membership meetings are held at area clubs, followed by live music.

The Piedmont Blues Preservation Society is an educational non-profit organization which was officially incorporated in the state of North Carolina in August 1985. The society is governed by a volunteer board of sixteen officers, representing a broad cross section of the local community. The general funding is provided through membership dues, souvenir sales, corporate donations, grants, and newsletter advertising. The society currently has approximately three hundred active members.

The Pikes Peak Blues Community exists to enhance the vitality of Blues and American Roots Music by supporting live performance and education.

The Reno Blues Society is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whos Mission Statement is to increase awareness of the culture, history and diversity of blues music through education and participation in community events.

River City Blues Society is organized exclusively for educational, literary, artistic and charitable purposes. They are a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and perpetuation of the Blues as an original American art form.

The Rowan Blues and Jazz Society was formed when many years back, a group of blues lovers got together for an impromptu jam session. They realized that there were people who were looking for a blues society.This jam session is now an annual fall event.

The Sacramento Blues Society is one of the oldest blues societies in California founded 1979. The SBS has kept the blues tradition alive in the Sacramento area by promoting the local blues music scene, bringing international renowned artists to the region, and is an afilliated member of The Blues Foundation. They provide educational opportunities for young people with our "Blues In The Schools" program.

The San Antonio Blues Society Inc. mission is to ensure the continuation of blues music by offering educational programs within the community, and to preserve locations and artifacts relevant to the history of blues music and its artists. SABS hosts jam sessions, local and national groups in concert and participates in local community events throughout the year. SABS also publishes The Blues News, a quarterly newsletter for SABS members dedicated to keeping the blues alive.

The San Luis Obispo Blues Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing high quality Blues music performances at reasonable price. The San Luis Obispo Blues Society typically produces 8 shows per year. They also distribute a newsletter that includes show announcements, artist bios, a calendar of other local Blues events and CD reviews.

The SBBS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the preservation and advancement of the African-American blues tradition. We sponsor and produce several major performances each year; bringing national and regional blues stars to Santa Barbara.

The Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society, is one of the youngest Blues Societies in the World. They are a nonprofit organization and are affiliated with the International Organization "The Blues Foundation" in Memphis, Tennessee. Their mission is to preserve and promote the Blues music art form.

The Endless Mountains Blues Fest are a private organization that provides an annual charitable function. Their mission is to provide charity through music.

Siskiyou Blues Society, established May 12 1993, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the indigenous American music known as "the blues."The Siskiyou Blues Society is about music and community. One of the best tools for plugging into and enjoying community spirit is through music and that is what they aim to do.

Smoky Mountain Blues Society's mission is to keep the blues alive. They offer blues reviews and much more.

The Tampa Bay Blues Festival has established itself as one of the world's preeminent blues music events, having presented over 195 of the world's greatest blues performers.Each year since 1995 the Tampa Bay Blues Festival has been staged at beautiful Vinoy Waterfront Park in downtown St. Petersburg. The park is located on the scenic shore.

The South Skunk Blues Society is a non-profit organization made up of blues music fans and musicians.The Society promotes public performance opportunities for Blues artists, and seeks to increase the exposure to and appreciation of Blues music by the general public.

The Southern California Blues Society has been actively involved in the community by presenting musical performances and special programs designed to promote and sustain the music we love. The Blues Society membership is a rich variety of blues music lovers, including blues music artists, corporate representatives, radio personalities and music fans who have a special passion for blues music.

The Kentucky Blues Society is a local chapter of an international organization. They are an affiliate of the Blues Foundation.
