Travel Guitars and Basses

  • Voyage-Air

    With a Voyage-Air acoustic guitar you can travel anywhere with any size guitar they make, including dreadnoughts, OM's, the Mini, electric guitars, etc. The reason is because Voyage-Air builds each of their guitars with fold-up necks for easy traveling storage.

  • Gibson

    The Gibson Traveling Songwriter is an acoustic electric cutaway capable of delivering acoustic tone both amplified or unplugged. It features a 24 3/4" scale length.

  • Larrivee

    The LarriveeĀ  P-09 is a professional quality, small sized guitar that is great for travel purposes. It features a Canadian spruce sound board and rosewood back/sides. The scale length is 24" and 18:1 chrome tuners.
  • Oscar Schmidt

    Oscar Schmidt offers their OGHS travel guitar. This is a half size dreadnought great for traveling, children, or as a starter. The OGHS is also available in a left handed version.
  • Martin Guitars

    Martin and Company offers two types Backpacker travel size guitars, a classical and a steel string. Each acoustic model has many features that are unique to the Backpacker, such as the construction, body size and top bracing pattern.
  • Art & Lutherie

    Art & Lutherie offers the Ami Series of acoustic travel guitars. These guitars are great for blues, folk, fingerstyle or slide. Options include cedar or spruce tops, and a nylon string version is available as well.
  • Rainsong

    The Orchestra Model (OM1000) is the smallest acoustic guitar made by Rainsong. It works great as a travel guitar or used for intimate settings such as coffee houses. The OM1000 features a graphite neck and body, and a full length scale.
  • Taylor Guitars

    Taylor offers two main travel size acoustic guitars, the Baby Taylor and the Big Baby. The Baby Taylor is the ultimate travel companion. It is three-quarters the size of a regular guitar, great for little hands or young kids. The Big Baby is slightly bigger than the Baby Taylor and just shy of a normal sized acoustic guitar.
  • Breedlove Guitars

    Breedlove Passport Series acoustic guitars are designed for ultimate portability without tonal sacrifice. These comfortable, easy to play acoustic instruments are the perfect choice for the musician on the move. They offer mini-Travel guitars (look for the T at the end of the model number) as well as Full Scale (FS) instruments.     Washburn offers the RO 5 Minstrel travel dulcimer with a spruce top and mahogany back/sides. The RO 10 Rover is a full size 24" scale acoustic travel guitar, also with a spruce top and mahogany back/sides.

  • Applause

    The Mini-Applause uses roundback technology and is designed as a travel guitar, or for younger players and players with small hands. This is a half-size steel string acoustic guitar that measures 22 1/2".
  • Tacoma Guitars

    Tacoma Guitars offers two travel size acoustic guitars; the P1 Papoose and the P112 Papoose. The P1 is portable with a natural color, a light satin finish, and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The P112 is a 12 string version of the P1.
  • Yamaha

    Yamaha offers their "Silent Guitar" that can travel wherever you do and can be played whenever you want to. Use headphones or plug it directly into a console.
  • Maton

    The Mini Maton is an acoustic travel guitar that comes in both an EML model and an EMD model. The EML uses grade "A" sitka spruce and Queensland maple for construction, while the EMD is made of grade "AA" sitka spruce and blackwood.
  • Aria

    The Aria Sinsonido Series of travel guitars and basses are "silent" guitars that can be played through headphones or through an amplifier. That means that you can play them wherever and whenever you want to. There are five modles to choose from.
  • Guitaround Enterprises

    Guitaround offers six models of electric travel guitars. The "Guitaround" series comes in original, medium and small sizes. Built-in headphone amplifiers make these battery powered electric guitars virtually unobtrusive no matter where you play them. The Guit Go 2008 is a guitar you can play at the airport, subway, park or on a bus. The Compact Beatles is a travel guitar that is teardrop-shaped and pays homage to the Beatles. The RaGuit is a custom made teardrop-shaped travel guitar with a headless design.
  • Miranda guitars

    Miranda builds "silent" travel guitars that sound, feel, and play like traditional acoustic guitars. They are offered in steel string and nylon string models. Features include standard scale length, cutaway or full bout conversion in seconds, one minute set-up and take-apart, and optional pickguard or tapping plates.

    The Eimers Mini Mac is a down scaled Selmer style gypsy jazz guitar. These are serious instruments designed for travel or for children, and are available in two sizes.
  • SoloEtte Guitars

  • Lehman Guitars

    Lehmann offers the model 1887 with a travel guitar option. It is a full sized acoustic instrument with a removable neck that will fit in your suitcase or store in the overhead of an airplane. The strings are tangle free because of a keeper bar that slides into the bridge. The guitar itself includes mahogany back and sides, a rosewood fingerboard, inlaid wood soundhole rings, black or ivoroid bindings, and a rosewood bridge.

  • Traveler Guitars

    Traveler offers several models of travel sized bass, acoustic electric, and electric guitars. They offer the Escape, Escape EG-1, Escape MK-11 steel (acoustic electric), Escape MK-11 bass, Escape MK-11 nylon (acoustic electric classical), Pro-series, Speedster, and the Ultra-light.   • Blattenberger Guitars

    Blattenberger makes custom made travel sized lap steel guitars. The standard lap steel guitars are 24 inches, but they offer 22, 25 and 26 inch sizes too. The standard woods are curly maple for the tops and mahogany for the backs. They also offer 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 string models, as well as a new electric acoustic model.

  • Adirondack Guitar

    Adirondack offers left handed acoustic and electric travel guitars and basses, including the Fernandes Nomad Deluxe, MiniStar, Wechter, Martin BackPacker, Traveler Escape EG-1, and Stagg Viaggio guitars. The BassStar is a left handed travel bass.
  • iCoustic

    The iCoustic travel bass from Alvarez features mahogany sides and back, a rosewood fingerboard, custom cables for iPod/MP3, and the iCoustic System already installed.
