UK Bass Guitar Builders

The Overwater range of electric basses comprises the Progress Series III, Evolution Series, J Series, Perception Series and Expression Series. The Progress Series is Overwater's flagship model and is available in 4, 5, 6 and 7 string formats with a choice of scale lengths from 32 to 38. The Evolution Series is for players who prefer the sound and feel of a bolt-on neck. The Expression Series are semi-acoustic basses.

Jaydee offers a half dozen bass guitar models all built in the UK. Choose from their Classic, Pearl, GA 24, Calibas, Roadie or Celeste Series of basses. Each offers it's own unique design. The Classic Series was originally designed and built for Mark King of Level 42.

Legra, built in the UK, offers three electric bass guitar models to choose from. The Spyder is a "John Entwistle" body style with a curly maple top. The pickups are custom built Villex linear humbuckers. The B42EL is a left handed bass guitar whose body is solid maple with a maple/ebony neck and a 34" scale length. The B42SBA is a right handed version of the EL with slightly different features.

Status Graphite offers over a half dozen electric bass guitar models made in the UK. The Streamline is a headless compact bass made of a one-piece, woven graphite composite. The T-Bass was designed for Trace Elliot. It is a classic bass style. The Stealth is headless and represents a milestone in Status' expertise of working with carbon fiber composites.

Clive Rees builds 4 string and 5 string electric bass guitars in the UK. The 4 string model comes with a choice of body size, headstock styles, and a choice of P-bass pickup or dual pickups of P-bass or J-bass. The Rees 5bass is a 5 string, 34 inch scale model with 5 individual string bridges mounted on maple for long sustain.

There are two electric bass guitar models offered by Paul Richardson of the UK. The PBR is a P-style bass with bolt-on neck. The JBR is a 70's style J-bass with block inlays and a bolt-on neck. All basses are 34’’ scale. Paul uses Padauk wood from sustainable forests and all basses have oil finishes.

Gus builds bass guitars in the UK and offers six models to choose from. The G3 Four is a passive bass delivering a range of single coil and humbucker tones from its Twin Gus Tube pickups. The G3 Four Active has a 3-band Active EQ system built into it. The G3 Baritone electric bass is a six string model with slightly wider string spacing.

Coley Guitars of the UK builds the Music Bass, a musicman styled bass with an olive ash top that features "spider webbing". The neck is a six piece laminate made of birdseye maple, bubinga and wenge. Schaller tuners, a Gotoh bridge and Bartolini pickups complete the package.

Chris Eccleshall builds three models of electric bass guitar in the UK. His 335 Style is a semi-acoustic with twin pickups and a 34" scale. The Cruiser has a 34" scale and a bolt-on neck. The Excalibur is the bass equivalent of Scimitar & Barracuda. Chris also builds electric and acoustic guitars and mandolins.

Graham Parker builds bass guitars in the UK. An example of his work is a Telecaster style bass with a straight-through maple neck, ebony fingerboard, and two Seymour Duncan pickups with a three-way switching configuration.

Rob Williams offers the CJB model electric bass guitar. This instrument features either a bolt-on or set neck, 22 frets, laminated neck with angled headstock, and active or passive electronics.
