UK Parlor Guitar Luthiers

Dave King builds a parlour size acoustic guitar he calls "The Louise". It is based on a late Nineteenth Century design and is built in the UK. These guitars are available in both 6 and 12 string styles, left handed or right handed, with 12 frets to the body. Scale lengths vary from 626mm to 610mm depending on whether you choose the 6 string or the 12 string. These acoustic parlour instruments come with a slotted headstock.

Richard Meyrick offers the Oxwich acoustic parlor guitar, based on a late 19th century design of the makers Lyon & Healy. Richard's model is an updated version. These instruments offer a sweet tone. They are a 12 fret to the body design using a modified "X" bracing. The headstock is slotted.

Steve Toon offers the "Charlton" parlor size acoustic guitar built in his shop in the UK. The Charlton is a 12 fret to the body style with an "X" braced top and a slotted headstock. This parlor model is optimized for fingerstyle playing but can be used for all styles. An excellent option for recording purposes.

NK Forster builds acoustic instruments of many styles, including their "Model A" parlor guitar. This instrument offers a strong treble response and is excellent for fingerpicking and strumming. The "Model A" parlor is available with either 12 or 13 frets to the body.

Gosden builds an all mahogany parlour guitar in the UK. All Gosden instruments are tailored to the players needs and built by one man from start to finish. All aspects of building process are discussed with each individual to insure complete satisfaction.

Paul Hathaway offers guitar designs of many styles. His G-2 is an acoustic parlor instrument. None of Paul's guitars are copies of factory produced instruments. Alan Prosser, Steafan Hannigan, Ron Kavana and Rody Rodgers are just some of his customers.

Brook offers two acoustic parlor guitar models made in the UK. The Creedy is a 12 fret to the body style with a slotted headstock. The Clyst is another parlor but a little bit bigger with a slightly fuller sound. It is also a 12 fret, slotted headstock design. This instrument will give the player a little more bottom end than the usual parlor models.

The Cabot model acoustic parlor guitar is based on a late Nineteenth Century design. It measures just 12 inches (305mm) across the lower bout of the body and comes with a 12 fret neck. A Cabot Mahogany Traditional model is also available from Kinkade.

A.J. Lucas builds acoustic parlor guitar models to Martin 00 and 0 size, making his parlor designs slightly larger than what is traditionally thought of as a parlor size. These guitars, made in the UK, offer a "piano-like" sound. All Lucas parlor guitars are 12 frets to the body. Varying body sizes and scale lengths are available.
