    The Ampeg ADA4 is a recreation of the original Dan Armstrong “Plexi” bass from the late 1960s. The maple ADA4 neck features 24 frets inlaid into an Indian rosewood fingerboard, which when combined with the unique diamond cut acrylic double cutaway body allows a full 2 octave access clear of the body. Custom interchangeable pickups by Kent Armstrong use a unique stacked design where the TONE control mixes the treble and bass coils for a depth of tone that belies the instruments 30” scale.     Tim Reede builds the Mammoth. A five string bass that has a low B sting in addition to the E,A,D, and G that four string basses have. It is a neck through construction. It has Hipshot ultra light tuning machines and a Hipshot bridge. The pickups are fat single coils made by Nordstrand and it has an active tone circuit pre amp made by Aguilar.
